This homestay on Besir island is ideally located near several interests spots in Raja Ampat. The place is calm, only two cabins on the water, connected to a village full of charm. The utilities are on the beach, near the owner's house. It's very clean and has everything required to answer basic needs. Regarding the rooms, mosquito net on the bed, fan, electricity at night, blankets, hammock, sunbed and basic furnitures. All the meals (included in the reservation) are served to your cabin, they vary and are prepared by an great cook! So everything is tasteful and good. No connection except if you get a SIM card on arrival at Sorong's airport but deconnection is great. It's easy to communicate with the owner who speaks well English (rare in Raja Ampat) and he tries his best for you to have the best stay possible. Him and his family are super nice and welcoming while respecting your privacy. I came with a friend and we stayed 3 full days, we had an amazing time there and we can only recommend this place. All the activities we've done through them were memorable, we had a lot of fun. Have a good holiday there!

We stayed in this homestay for 4 days. It was very good time to be there. Our home was very comfortable but later we got know that only our home was the best because we have the bed not the mattress as in the others ones. We have a good view. The family every day to please us the delicious food. They prepared the food 4 times a day although on the page of booking.com was indicated only “ the breakfast included”. The master of the home stay, Ferdinand did the best for us in order to show the most interesting places in this area with board. Every day we were going to the best places for snorkeling and he organized the good filching for my husband. From there we saw several times dauphins and shark. Ferdinand is very kind. His son speaks so it possible easily communicate. Near this homestay there is the village where you can visit the school and church. We went to see the paradise birds and the animal cuscus it easily to do exactly from there. In family there are two beautiful girls who help us to go the mountains. We were very glad to stay in this home stay. Andrey&Lena

The hosts Paulus (Pablo) and his wife are so friendly. We even changed our flights back so we would stay here longer. The name is now Raja Ampat Blue Sea. Food is amazing. One of the only homestays in Raja Ampat we know of that has a private bathroom. Also has power for much longer than other places. The reef is also incredible. We saw two walking sharks, two boxfish and a cuttlefish the first time we explored. Paulus also organised snorkeling gear for us. They also have a cuscus that regularly visits us, something that we didn't see at any of the other homestays. The village is also walking distance if you need to get anything. The tours that they organised were amazing. The price was also way less than we paid at some of the other homestays. Cell signal with Telkomsel was also very good. Everything was simply amazing!

What an absolute GEM of a stay. Definitely our top stay in Raja Ampat. The family was so kind and the food delicious. We loved that there was only limit people (one other couple at the stay) even though we did not meet Donald he was a great communicator

We absolutely loved our stay at Beser Bay. The bungalows are located in a beautiful spot, slightly tucked away but with amazing sunset views. The bungalows are large and spacious and very comfortable. Power is limited (6pm-midnight), but that’s plenty of time to re-charge phones, cameras, etc. We were always able to get good cell service (we had Telkomsel SIM cards). We loved how quiet it was here eg you don’t hear music from nearby villages etc so it’s very peaceful. The food was insanely good, to the point that if they released a cook book I would buy it. The food varied each night, with lots of veg cooked in different and delicious ways. Plenty of fish, plus eggs and chicken. Highlight were the 4pm snacks like cakes from the village or their home made chocolate donuts or banana puffs for breakfast. We never went hungry here..! Excursions were reasonably priced (bring a ton of cash) - we loved visiting Citrus Ridge and Aulin Reef were maybe the highlights. House reef is worth doing (we saw nudibranches) - hard to snorkel there at low tide but you just have to time when you go in and otherwise do excursions or just read a good book. We did the red bird of paradise tour from here - definitely worth it (just bring a ton of repellent). If you need to find more people for a tour, walk to the Homestay around the corner / rock and join their tours or get guests there to join yours. You also see baby rays and sharks swimming around the bungalows. Hosts were so lovely and friendly - we liked that they left us to ourselves most of the time but if we had questions or wanted a chat, so they were around.

Simply the best homestay we visited in Raja Ampat, it has an extra touch overs the other homestays: walking paths are well kept, every room has it's water outside, the restaurant deck on the water is wonderful, rooms are new with a mesmerizing view. House reef is one of the best we have seen in RA (just pay attention to the currents!). Moreover Mario is an excellent host and helps create a great atmoshpere, he has several boats and offers the chepeast tours around.

    The staffs are friendly, the excursion, day trip price is reasonable, foods are full board, meals are great with variety of fish, meat and vegetables, fruits. Location is great and close to most attractions dive, snorkeling spots. The house reef is ok and easy to swim when high tide. Bungalow is huge with 2 stories and can easily accommodate 4-5 people, love the terrace, it’s spacious and spectacular view, we can spend all day on the terrace, lots of fishes to spot like baby shark, walking shark and some beauty bird

    Listening to our host's recommendations for places to see and what to do. We didnt follow a pre-scheduled list from online sources. We let local knowledge be our guides. This enhanced our experience. Embrace the food. Its tasty, its home cooked. Its local catch of the day, locally sourced fruits and vegetables. On one tour, Paulus our host pulled up to a boat and bought a fish. On our plates that evening!

    Love the simple local life, nice to support the local...

    Love the simple local life, nice to support the local Islanders. One major problem is, there isn't any recycling for plastic bottles etc. I spoke with some of the elders about this, but they simply said nothing has been organized to recycle rubbish especially plastic bottles. Definitely needs to be addressed. Marine life is so beautiful there.
