The owner Reza is really lovely and speaks perfect English (with a British accent!). Tangkahan was a nice change from the much more touristy Bukit Lawang. We especially enjoyed our jungle tour, including tubing on the river, it was one of the most magical moments of our trip!! We also enjoyed mingling with locals and bathing at the nearby riverbank. You should definitely not miss out on this more remote part of the jungle!

Great homestay in Bukit Lawang, very clean, very cosy huge bed and AC! The owner arranged a Jungle tour for us and our guide Jonny did an awesome job! We saw a lot of orang Utans and a lot of other animals, he knew a lot about the animals and the jungle which was great! The food was also really good! Can’t recommend this place enough

Rooms were clean with very comfortable beds. Hot and stable water for showering in jungle is really a luxury. Such a magnificent view overlooking the river and the rainforest. Staff been all very friendly and welcoming. Evening live music made the dinner experience so nice! And good food too! We met the owner and did enjoy a good chat with this nice and charming gentleman.

The friendliest staff/host I've ever had. Yes, the location is far from the village, and it's scary and dangerous to walk back to the guesthouse alone at night. But don't hesitate to ask the host for a ride, they are always willing to help! Very good place to just relax and chill out.

Batu Mandi is an amazing and quiet place. It feels like a home, the family is very kind. They helped me to learn some Indonesian. The food was delicious, always fresh and beautifully decorated.
