We particularly liked the dining room and the view. Breakfast was very good, rooms are clean and well-appointed, the village of Cong is an absolute gem. Staff are very friendly and courteous. We stayed at Ryan's Hotel last year and made sure to book again on this occasion; we will be staying at Ryan's in the future, no doubt. There is a patio outside, and the pub, which is accessible from within the hotel or from outside, has a wonderful atmosphere, often with live traditional music, and serves excellent food; the specialty is lamb shank. There is also a unique bookstore, specializing in national and local history that, while not accessible directly from the hotel, is nonetheless in the same building and is in some way associated with the hotel; this bookstore is well worth a visit by anyone interested in Irish history and culture and the proprietor, Robert, is a goldmine of local knowledge. We can't recommend this hotel highly enough.
