The stay at the hotel was exceptional. They upgraded our room from a standard room to a suite because we informed the hotel staff that we were coming for a honeymoon vacation. The room was clean and tidy. The pool and spa area is pleasant, clean and fun. We had dinner in the hotel's restaurant which is in the basement of the hotel which is actually a renovated castle. It was a special experience thanks to the look of the restaurant and the delicious food. highly recommend!

Capital of the Italian Tyrol

Bolzano is one of those cases that are difficult to describe without risking undermining its beauty and complexity. A witness of the conflicts and renaissance of Europe, this Italian city is the capital of the German speaking province of South Tyrol. Located in the Adige River Valley, it is surrounded by hills crowned by castles, and framed by the Dolomites Alps.

After reaching the local railway station, follow the Bahnhofsallee or Viale della Stazione and you’ll reach Walther Square, where the beautiful Cathedral of the Assumption of Our Lady is located. The shops along the arcaded street of Via dei Portici will lead you towards the market, located in Goethe Strasse. The display of colourful vegetables and flowers encompasses the beautiful buildings, while some of the best luxury hotels in Bolzano are located nearby.

    Would like to go back prepared to do the walks and hikes in the area. The old city and market were charming. Loved the Archeology museum and learning about Otzi the Iceman. Cable car and train a great introduction to the possibilities available for future visits.

    The museums were well laid out and interesting, also reasonably priced. It was a lot busier than we were expecting & less friendly than other Italian cities. There were many shops, quite pricey, as well as a variety of street stalls, so a busy bustling City.

    The city is incredibly charming, with a vibe that feels much more Austrian than Italian. It’s also surrounded by plenty of beautiful hikes (which I wish I’d had time to do!). I only stayed for two days, and while one day is enough to see the city itself, the real highlight is exploring the trails and nature nearby. The food is distinctly Austrian, hearty and delicious, and the bakeries are absolutely fantastic.

    Felt like Austria in Italy.

    Felt like Austria in Italy. Wonderful, relatively easy hike along the Freud Promenade (after a wonderfully long cable car ride with panoramic Alpine views) to a village where he got married and summered frequently. The Great Dolomites road was stunning. Otis the Copper Age mummy was well displayed quite interesting.

    Bolzano the town itself is really beautiful, many nice shops. The restaurants on offer were also very good and easy to get around. We went up to Ober Bolzano with the big cable car ride, it was amazing the views of the Dolomites unbeatable. What an amazing experience and the people of Bolzano are extremely welcoming and friendly, the service excellent

    Bolzano is gorgeous, and lots of different things to do. I wouldn’t spend more than 4 days in it. Renting a car would help to see the region and reach more places. We had a medical emergency and found the pharmacies easy to rich and very polite people. In general liked the people in Bolzano , polite and helpful. Only thing I did not like is how confusing and regimented was to dispose of garbage. Getting around is very easy by public transportation.

    We had a short but enjoyable stay at Parkhotel Mondschein. The hotel is in the very centre of Bolzano, in its own park, with an outdoor swimming pool and a cool pool bar. Parkhotel Mondschein features cool and clean design, with a touch of retro. Our room was spacious, with super high ceilings. Breakfast choice is great - both the buffet and a la carte - and the quality of food is top notch.

    The hotel is new and looks excellent. Breakfast was basic but plentiful, and the staff was very nice. We loved the size of the room, the comfy bed and the large bedroom. Despite the weather, we really appreciated the hotel's garden. We also really loved exploring the city of Bolzano with the complimentary city card that the hotel gave us. Overall, it was a pleasant experience.

    Breakfast was excellent. A good variety of items, breads, yogurts, fresh fruit, etc. The hotel has a well maintained garden in and around a swimming pool. Designer elements in the rooms, some with balconies. Gym was small but offered everything one needs for a solid workout. Visitors card allowed for free bus to and from downtown Bolzano.

    Actually i was really shocked that we got the apartment 306, we really have everything what we needed. Specially the balcony. The hotel is at the shopping mile in the center of Bolzano where restaurants and shop are walking distant. And very helpful and friendly staff. Wifi perfect!
