It is a lovely area with a multitude of beaches, friendly people, and plenty of restaurants. It is a long way from the airports, but the roads are good and so the 80 minute drive from Olbia isn't onerous. A parasol or some other sun shelter is a must (although it is possible to hire parasols on some beaches) - the sun is very intense and shade can be difficult to come across on many beaches, especially those accessible only by boat.Guest review byAnonymous - 8.0

It was a short 2-night stay at Cala Gonone in early April. There is so much to visit here in the region so I would like to return. Lovely beaches in Cala Gonone, romantic walks in the town, tasty meals in the welcoming restaurants. Nearby great walks to beaches where you can also get by regular boat trips. Really nice town in a glorious location - quite a peaceful vibe in mid-October as the season winds down. The Gulf of Orosei is the highlight, with boats trips available to isolated beaches, cliffs and caves. Highly recommend a day trip on Dovesesto (a 1940's sailing yacht) - an unforgettable day out. We highly recommend to book in advance during high season, as this hotel has a great location and due to the fact that the town is small. From there, you can due great (boat) trips to famous Cala Luna etc., or explore different beaches close by by car. Breakfast was also nice, with a nice ocean view on their terrace.
