Giarre and neighbouring Riposto are unspoilt small towns with few tourists. We were the only foreigners wherever we ate. La Tavernetta was our favourite. The seafood market in Riposto was a perfect source for the meals we cooked in our suite. Driving in Sicily is fun as long as you copy the locals. It's a small town by the sea...
It's a small town by the sea... It's not very "touristy" but it's a perfect base to visit Taormina, the etna, Catania. Overall I would say it's more convenient then charming! Giarre is not a great tourist attraction.
Giarre is not a great tourist attraction. However it is a great center for touring East Sicily. We found it very strange that Sicilians keep to their siesta even in winter. After sunset when it got very dark and a bit cold, we did not feel like going to a restaurant (they open at 6 or 7). So we cooked our dinners. Good for us, bad for them.Guest review byCsabaHungary

I informed here I had 2 kids, a toddler and a baby and the apartment was fully complimented with toys and even a cake for our toddler. Fridge full with juices, fruit, water and yogurts. It was exceptional and we were not expecting that at all. They a very dedicated to the rental place and the lady will always check on you that everything is ok.
