Massa is not overrun with toursits. The mountains are beautful, the beach was clean, water clear and white sand beaches. There are plenty of free beach areas with showers. The beach is clean as well. Lots of restaurants and the grocery stores have a huge variety of food and it was not over priced. Calm village, a little bit industrial, but its not noisy. Not many aboard tourist so you can experience a full Italian lifestyle. Beautiful views on the sea and mountains. Cool place to have nice walks, see the main promenade around 3 kilometers away, and it's a good place to get on the local trips.
