Easily reached from Verona and an interesting place with...
Easily reached from Verona and an interesting place with it's massive Venetian style defensive walls. It has a couple of pretty areas, but there isn't a lot else of historic interest here. Plenty of nice places to eat though, with Osteria Rivelin and Amici Miei Tipicoteca the standouts that we tried. From here you can use the ferries and buses to go elsewhere quite easily - as long as you are relaxed about bus timetables. Peschiera is a lively town at the edge of Lake Garda. It has lots of shops, bars and restaurants. It offers easy access to boat trips, walks and cycle-paths, as well as other lakeside towns. Peschiera was beautiful, the train was 3.50 euros return from Bella Italia hotel into Peschiera and a time table is provided. The boat trips and ferry trips are very easy to access to visit other towns. We used the bus twice which always ran about half an hour late but still turned up. I have the impression that the town has lost so many of its services - supermarkets, fruit and veg shops, delis - and the permanent citizens of Peschiera have put their efforts into restaurants, bars and shops. It is a very pretty town but I feel it is not a real town but a tourist town. In high season the ferries are frequent to visit towns around the lake. Very easy to get around & family friendly.
Very easy to get around & family friendly. Loved walking around the lake in early morning. We went in June, it was hot and there were lots of tourists. I would recommend going off season if you're looking for something a bit more intimate and cooler weather. Trampoline near lake was fun for all, rented a boat and drove around the lake, took the ferry to Sirmione for a spa treatment and dinner, went on a 1/2 day bike tour a along the river, which all of us throughly enjoyed and will remember (2 in early 70s, a 50 year old and 15 year old).Guest review byAlbergaUnited States - 10.0

Towns keeps the vibe of Garda lake very well, a lot of restaurants and lovely architecture. It is easy to get around and as all places has easy ferry connection to other locations. Big plus for proximity of gardaland and viva safari park - I highly recommend this one, best value for the money so far but book at least half a day and bring good shoes as it is quite a hike.Guest review byFelekPoland

The hotel is beautiful, extremely clean, beds made every day and the staff are lovely. The breakfast is delicious and a massive choice and beautiful room to sit in or outside terrace opposite the lake. Perfect location 5 minutes walk from Peschiera Del Garda which is stunning. Our room was fantastic and lovely and clean and comfortable. Great amenities. The hotel was in a great location and the Cafe on the ground floor was fantastic. Lovely food and drink all day long. The staff there were also lovely. Very welcoming and friendly. The hotel is on the central island of peschiera and is surrounded by amazing eateries and bars. Peschiera itself is lovely with some nice restaurants nearby. Gardaland and the water park have a free shuttle bus from the train station, which is a 5 minute walk away. Staff are so friendly and accommodating. They stored our luggage, and we had access to all the facilities on the day we checked out. The balcony was surprisingly big and had a nice view of the pool.
