Tirano is a really nice little town, busy with plenty of visitors, but also with plenty of locals out and about enjoying the restaurants and cafes. Unfortunately we only stayed one night but we had time to explore the old town and wished we had a bit more time to visit more of the restaurants. We arrived via train and bus from Milan. very long day as flew from Perth WA and arrived at 6 am. Very pleased to find a comfortable bed walking up a steep footpath from the bus station with our luggage was a bit of a challenge. Lovely little town surrounded by beautiful mountains.
Lovely little town surrounded by beautiful mountains. Starting point for the Bernina Red Train, which is listed UNESCO World Heritage Site. Lots of cafes, restaurants, shops, hotels. Beautiful Basilica of Our Lady of Tirano worth visiting. Little medieval church of St Perpetua, 30 minute walk from the city centre up the hill - another hidden gem of this beautiful area.Guest review byPatrycja
