A small and very typical town at the foot of Vesuvius. The town has a wonderful atmosphere. A 15-minute walk to the beach. Nearby is a park and the ancient town of Ercolano. It was great to stay in this beautiful renovated appartment, very clean, everything new. It is a quiet spot in busy Torre del Greco, there was also a nice spot to sit outside. Torre del Greco seems to be a suburb of Naples and is ideal for people who want to cycle up Vesuvius! It is right under the volcano. Well priced food and pizza restaurants, lovely little centre, excellent ice cream, it was a less chaotic version of Naples and prepared us for the big city! It was a taste of the real Italy.
It was a taste of the real Italy. Few people spoke English, so our limited Italian was tested. As with many places of Italy, the place is 'gritty'. We had amazing views from our bed and on the balcony. The location was great, quieter than centre of Naples but still not far and plenty of restaurants and shops in Torre del Greco, easy to get to by train or bus! Host was great with communication and allowed us an early check in which was very kind. Lots of cold water for us in the fridge which was also lovely. Room has coffee machine too!
