The places I needed and wanted to go to were all within -20 minutes from each other. The area is nice and walkable, some family marts and Lawsons on the way if you need to stop for a quick snack or need to pick something last minute. Chatan is an ideal location for people visiting family...
Chatan is an ideal location for people visiting family members in the military. It's very close to most of the bases, and has a wide selection of hotels. There is public transportation, but It's very walkable (in most areas). We felt very safe walking around. The America Village there has lots of shops, restaurants and bars. Location is quite far from the airport. However the sunset is exceptional and the restaurants are on the beach so you can get an excellent view. American village sort of reminds me of a cross between Disney and Vegas.Guest review byTimJapan

We took a 2 bedroom unit and it was spacious and comfortable. Unit very well equipped with all kinds of homestay equipment, amenities and even products (the most I've seen in a homestay unit). The check-in is on the ground floor office of Peace Housing. The American Village, Aeon, plus restaurants and convenience stores are within 5-10 minutes walk. There is free on-site parking.
