The places I needed and wanted to go to were all within -20 minutes from each other. The area is nice and walkable, some family marts and Lawsons on the way if you need to stop for a quick snack or need to pick something last minute. Chatan is an ideal location for people visiting family...
Chatan is an ideal location for people visiting family members in the military. It's very close to most of the bases, and has a wide selection of hotels. There is public transportation, but It's very walkable (in most areas). We felt very safe walking around. The America Village there has lots of shops, restaurants and bars. Location is quite far from the airport. However the sunset is exceptional and the restaurants are on the beach so you can get an excellent view. American village sort of reminds me of a cross between Disney and Vegas.Guest review byTimJapan

The room was big, with a kitchenette, washing machine, dryer and clothes rack. The bed was soft and comfortable. The aircon worked great. It's a short walk to American Village, and the Araha beach, which has a stinger net and offers other water activities like parasailing. There is two supermarkets close by, there is also numerous bars, but lacking local food unless you want burgers and American food each night.
