    Great city.

    Great city. I enjoyed visiting this city, especially the Himeji Castle. This was the third times I visit Himeji Castle. Public transportation was convenient. I would recommend spending at least two full days at this city.

    Himeji is obviously very famous for its castle, but other than that lacks many things to do. I found my time there to be rather boring, and we often struggled to find activities to fill our nights with. We used Himeji as a central location to take day trips from - since we booked during Golden Week, hotel prices in more ideal areas, such as Kobe, were heavily inflated and unreasonable.

    The Himeji locals are friendly.

    The Himeji locals are friendly. I also like the town as it has a little of an un-hurried atmosphere. Finding things to do and places to see it facilitated by a Tourist Information centre, where I have been most surprised by the things on offer throughout the year. (I wish I was there now for the Himeji Yukata festival) If you haven't already, please visit Himeji Castle and take a guided tour. The guides in my experience are full of information about e castle, its history and the history of its occupants. If nature is your thing, by all means possible visit Shosha-zan!

    Himeji is a nice sized city, with a beautiful castle and...

    Himeji is a nice sized city, with a beautiful castle and associated gardens. We were lucky to be there during the annual festival, which was held over a weekend. This included a street parade and hundreds of short performances by beautifully-costumed groups. A great festival atmosphere.

    Himeji castle is one of the"must-sees" in Japan, not only...

    Himeji castle is one of the"must-sees" in Japan, not only for the original architecture, but also for the historical importance. It's also very interesting if you have an interest in European castle / fortress architectures to contrast and compare.

    I only had a few hours, but wanted to see the castle, which I did both in sunlight and after dark. It is stunning (I didn't go inside) and the moat contains enormous black carp I was alone, and on my way to visit friends the next day, but I would say the night scene looked good - I would have liked to be with others to go out and explore. It looked like a fun city

    Booked an expensive Japanese style room only to find ourselves on the bottom floor (4th) with a fantastic view on 2 industrial sized generators......Absolutely terrible. Check in was ridiculous, couldn't find our reservation which is why we may have been given such a crappy room. surely the expensive type rooms are on the top floors with views on the castle ? FAR FAR better option to stray in Himeji which is really worth a visit but not this hotel.

    This was a super funny experience for my friend Joe and I. Its obviously a love hotel, but we were using it just as a place to stay to do a day trip in Himeji Castle. And for this purpose, it was fantastic! our room surprisingly had a view of the castle, from the third floor. the bed was comfy, you just have to not think about what's gone on there and not look too closely, but the free parking is great, its secure, its cheap and the location is fantastic.

    I thought this hotel was of a very good quality - more than a 3 star hotel. The customer service was excellent as it was throughout Japan. The room was comfortable and a good size and it had a great view out over the city. The hotel is close to the station and it was very easy to walk there and also to Himeji Castle. I had breakfast downstairs one morning, which was quite good value for money.

    Perfect location that only a few minutes away from the train station and shopping area. Restaurants, izakaya, ramen, street food, bars, you name it. Also, not far away from the iconic Himeji Castle, which is a must to go destination for all visitors. The breakfast is amazing with both traditional Japanese and Western style available. All food we tried are so delicious.
