It was very clean and comfortable. The property is well equipped and had all we needed to make our stay complete. We were especially happy with the washing machine and laundry liquid being supplied was very helpful. We didn’t cook but the kitchen was spacious and well-equipped. We could have cooked if we’d wanted to. Communication was clear.

Was there during the summer. Great place to escape the heat, go for a hike etc. Great place to rest with traditional Japanese inn experience. Very hospitable hosts with amazing breakfast. If possible, I'd like to return here during other seasons (e.g., winter)

I had expected the place to be a hotel and only realised after arriving that it was a traditional Japanese inn. The hosts were fantastic. Communication was with translation by iPhone but everything was clear. The inn is traditional so be prepared for the futon bed and the shared bathroom and washing facilities. But it's also small so we did not need to queue or wait. We were also provided with traditional dress which we wore to the craft beer bar close by. The hosts were wonderful. Everything from arranging a taxi to advice on what we needed for the hot spring bath in the village. The breakfast and dinner (it's an inn so both are included even though breakfast is mentioned only) were amazing. It was at a level I would expect in an expensive restaurant here but felt like you were in a home and not a hotel. The area is great for hiking and the village is just super nice. Great ice-cream place nearby also. All in all it was the best weekend break I have ever had and I have loads of memories - my advice is to go there and just immerse yourself without expectations. Again the hosts were amazing

This is a traditional ryokan in Dorogawa, the picturesque small town. Everything is in walking distance: the river, the cave, the stores, the restaurants, the dragon temple. The bath was hot and very nice to take before going to sleep. The room is a nice, classic, big Japanese-style room with futon sleeping - and one time I saw a deer and her fawn through the window!

It's the best accommodation! Big room and private hot springs! All the staff were so kind. Dinner&breakfast was good quality and obviously delicious. I didn't even want to check out forever. I definitely will book again.

The food was absolutely amazing and it was nice that they explained what every component was and where it was from. The staff were also super friendly and made us feel at home. On top of all this, the room was really spacious and well-designed, we would definitely come back to explore the area more!
