I had the most wonderful stay at Taragala Chalets. Saman was so kind and looked after me so well. I felt very privileged to stay in such a beautiful place and see amazing birds in the garden and in the wetland nature reserve beside it. Nothing was too much trouble for Saman and he took me around and showed me the lovely village, the beach and Taragala Rock. The food was amazing. It was the highlight of my trip. I have very happy memories and hope to be back one day.

Breakfast was exceptional and included, the evening meal was outstanding, order your drinks so they have them in, our preference is bottled Lion beer and ginger beer shandy, refreshing in the heat I read other peoples reviews and I had to include this homestay in our trip, Hungama doesn't attract the usual tourist but it was quite convenient to Yala and easy to access Bundala national parks. Our host, Sagara, took an hour out of his day to walk with us which was interesting and informative..

We had the suite, with the large terrace, directly on the beachfront. It was simple amazing! The staff was very friendly and helpful. Room service can be arranged by whatsapp. The menu and drinks have enough variety for 5-6 days. The beach is very quite and beautiful. Highlight was diner at the beachfront. Also, the spa menu gives your some good options for relaxation.

The staff and host in this property could not have been any kinder. We were able to get our laundry done for a very fair price and the host even made us a packed breakfast as we had to leave very early morning on our departure. The location was very close to the beach and a short ride to the secret beach.

What made our week’s stay at Lagoon Gate Tangalle Resort truly exceptional was how well looked after we were by Lalith and his family. My friend and I were interested in yoga and exploring, and not only did Lalith connect us with everyone to ensure we had the best possible experiences, from yoga and kayaking to whale and turtle watching, but we got to discover the closely connected local community. Rooms were spacious and spotless, our meals were freshly home-cooked, and there was plenty to see in the tropical grounds. We had beautiful stay at this amazing place. Personal was always here and helpful, arranged for us tuktuk and bird watching tour. The room was amazing, clean, spacious, comfortable, we were upgraded for free. Ever day nice breakfast- different options available. Long Beach with palms and minimum people. If you get behind the waves, you can swim there. But best for long walks. Few beach restaurants nearby with fresh fish. Calm and peaceful, ideal if you want to get away from the crowds and just spend time with the sea and yourself.
