Sampath village was an absolute delight! The room and facilities were pristinely clean and comfortable, outfitted with thoughtful touches like a tea kettle and luggage rack. They let me do a much-needed load of laundry, including a dryer so no need to wait a week for clothes to dry in the humidity. The free bikes were fantastic for exploring the beautiful city. The manager Shan was a godsend - he helped so much to arrange taxis, travel, and even a safari for me and a group of other guests - and he even woke up before sunrise to prepare breakfast for us when we went! He went above and beyond in every way and made my stay both easy and unforgettable.

The room is big and SUPER clean. The bed is very comfortable. The patio is beautiful and full of plants. The breakfast (you can add it) is the best breakfast I have ever had in my entire life!!! The accommodation is managed by the lovely family. Mr. Shehan and Mrs. Sri were always willing to help, they are adorable. They also helped me to arrange a tuk tuk to the old city, which I highly recommend because he gave me a lot of information, Nishanta is his name. I would definitely come back a thousand times… thank you for everything ♥️

The view from the room is super beautiful, the vocation is a little bit outside of the city Center what makes it really calm and natural. When I sat on the terrace I saw monkeys and palm trees. The best part of this place is the host family who treated me super kindly and made me part of the family for the time I stayed at their place. The owner of the property took me to a lot of hidden places and when I got hungry he dropped me at a really nice restaurant. I am really grateful I got to know them!

Breakfast was great! This was arranged under a shady 'Arjun Tree' (Kumbuk in Sinhala) in the charming compound filled with bird calls, butterflies right in front of the room. It was so appealing, appetizing, delicious and wholesome. The hospitality of the owners of the Golden Gate Ceylon was great indeed. The place is so quiet, secure and peaceful. You will really feel the tranquil.

We had a truly wonderful stay at Diyakawa Boutique Hotel! This beautiful, small-scale hotel is run by incredibly kind local owners who take genuine care of their guests. Everything radiates peace, warmth, and heartfelt hospitality. One of the absolute highlights was the cooking experience they regularly organize — and it’s even included for guests. Such a unique and fun way to get to know the delicious Sri Lankan cuisine. The hotel is also one of the best places to eat in the area. The food is absolutely amazing, and the service is exceptionally friendly. It’s possible to eat at the lake, which is amazing. A lovely moment was when the owners’ twelve-year-old daughter came over to chat with our kids — such a sweet girl, and already speaking good English! Also the hotelmanager Deepthi extended the service by advising our food, explaining the history of Anarudhapura and entertaining the kids in the evening. The pool is wonderfully refreshing, and the view over the lake is simply stunning. A peaceful oasis to return to after a day of exploring. Plus, it’s the perfect base for a visit to the ancient city of Anuradhapura. Highly recommended for anyone looking for personal service, relaxation, and authentic Sri Lankan hospitality.

I cannot fault this property at all, the facilities were lovely and clean. What really made our stay amazing was the staff! The host Hetti went above and beyond to make sure we were taken care of and had everything we needed. He helped us book our bus for onward travel and even made sure we got onto our bus safely. The MOST AMAZING owners you could ever imagine. So-so naturally and gently cary! Very positive, smart, beautiful and interesting personalities, they do their business with all their hearts, so you will find the hotel: very cozy and spacious, super clean and tidy, decorated with paintings made by one of the owners ❤️ They helped us to arrange the tuk-tuks and and safari to Wilpattu with low prices and lovely drivers, did our loundry (huge amounts) in a short period of time. The breakfast was amazing: various and beautiful, it contained both european and national srilankian food. Beds were comfortable to sleep, bedrooms - accurately maintained and renovated.
