I loved everything about Halketha. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with such warmth and hospitality from Chitra, Mary and Nelumi. We were taken to our villa across a beautiful landscaped garden that also stays true to its love for the natural environment. The villa itself was perfection - perfectly decorated, clean, homely but also provided you with a sense that you were in luxury. The outdoor bathroom was a cherry on top, with a beautiful araliya tree in the middle. During our stay, we were not only treated close to family, but the quality of service was nothing like I had seen in Sri Lanka for a long time. The food was authentically Sri Lankan, with a rich yet classic taste. The property is close to mini waterfalls and great walks. This is a stay I will keep coming back to. A reminder that authentic and wholesome experiences still exist in Sri Lanka.

The villa is in a quiet area. The kids had a lot of fun in the pool and enjoyed the different games available like the billiard table. Aloka made sure we had great meals and showed us a river with small waterfalls in the area where the kids could take a swim which was great.

The place was a little bit secret. From outside, we can not see how beautiful the interior is. It seems there are not too many customers in the hotel. It was quiet. From the hotel, we could walk to the beach. The second last night in Sri Lanka, the hotel was fantastic!

I'm really demanding person but I was fascinated about this place! Let's Start with location. It's situated about 10 minuts by foot from Aluthgama railway station. It's very convenient when you trevel by train like we. You shouldn't worry about noise because this hotel is on a quiet street near the river. For people who is really in nightlife there are no bars, cafes and parties around this place. Instead of this you can enjoy amazing sunsets and try water activities on the river or fly on a glider over the beach. The hotel is separated from the beach by a river so they give you a free ride to the beach by boat. The beach is sandy, wide and almost deserted. There are no cafes but I saw several sunbeds so probably it could be rented. The coast is quite flat and the ocean depth is shallow, so the place is suitable for children Guest house is pretty small (about 5-6 rooms) and doesn't have a garden where people can walk but we didn't suffer about it. Amazing and welcoming family run it. They helped us with all questions but were not intrusive. We took a river safari excursion from them and did not regret it. We saw monitor lizards, endemic monkeys, small crocodiles, bats and birds. All the time we ate only in this hotel. They provide very tasty and filling breakfasts. We were served scrambled eggs in different forms (scramble, omelet, etc.), yogurt, fruit, toast, butter and jam, juice, tea or coffee. Besides they have a wide selection of dishes in menu including grilld meet( chiken, beef, porc), sea food, noodles, rice etc. All was available and has affordable price. We stayed in family room on the first floor. It is spacious, bright, extremely clean and fully matches with photo and description. Definitely recommend this hotel and say a huge thank you to this family!

I cannot write an objective review for the place since from me this was like a pilgrimage because I am just a huge fan of Geoffrey Bawa. Just being there was a dream come true! The staff is exceptional, very thoughtful and well mannered. The small touches like the happy hour where they serve home infused gin and tonic ( Bawa’s favourite) by the Lunuganga is an experience in itself. The sense was of history , his whimsical sense of design , his attention to detail is a learning in itself.. What a legacy !

The location is amazing. Its right at the beach. This hotel is run by family and the owner personally takes good care of the guests. The best part was even if the owner's wife was in hopsital, he came all the way just to ensure that we have a smooth checkin. Thanks a lot for the gesture Harshit. The breakfast was amazing and was cooked by owner's family so you get to taste the home food. I would definately come back to this place if i visit next. Thanks Harshit for all the help. the owner with his biggest and cutest Labrador in Sri Lanka. The owner who earns money and supports poor and needy people, so if you want to help people in Sri Lanka, it is worth leaving your money with Chami. You can also eat great fish at Villa Chami (I recommend it with tomato sauce). And Maja the dog is the entertainment of the entire Bentota beach, swimming and playing in the waves of the sea. People come to take photos and videos of Maja. A special couple Chami and Maja
