Staying at Wood Palace in Ella was one of the highlights of my trip. The owner is a great bloke too — kind, genuine, and always ready to help with tips, directions, or just a good chat. The view of the hills from the bar and restaurant is breathtaking. The decoration of the room is very arty and even unique. Would recommend this place as a retreat for resting too. It has a nice little pool. Staff is helpful and organizes tuktuks for you at the best price.

We booked 2 rooms for 2 nights and wished we could have stayed longer! - outstanding (!!!) breakfast! - incredibly nice host who organizes whatever you wish - very quiet but convenient location. You can walk to Ella main street (3-5 min), ella rock, adams peak, station etc - clean rooms with very comfortable beds and extremely good shower with strong, hot water Highly recommended! good big breakfast except taste of coffee. colibris. shortcut to centre 7 min by foot following the railroad. quiet area but in night monkeys run on the roof and fight. nice view from the balcony, good picture place from neighbours property to the waterfall. Bottled water was always available, owner super friendly and used twice his tuck-tuck to lift us to the centre. enough hot water. saw just 1 mosquito in April during 2 days
