The villa is well laid out with all required facilities. It's clean and tidy. The owner was there to receive us and to handover the property. He is very plesent, friendly and corporative. We had full prevacy, comfort and all the freedom. The most liked pat was that the owner allowed our pet dog Labrador to stay with us. Our Labrador was the most enjoyed and thrilled out of all of us, as the dog enjoyed the garden freely by playing and jumping in to the pond in front of the property. The facilities are luxurious and entire property is equipped to satisfy our full expectations.

The host Buddhika is a very gracious host, we were able to see his tea fields and were welcomed in his house, he even made us homemade drinks and talked about the different kinds of plants in his garden. The pick up service was excellent and he helped us to get on the right bus. The two cottages are very beautiful, equipped with everything you need (best ac so far in Sri Lanka) and have a very peaceful view of the lake, in a short walking distance is a spot to swim. It’s near the street, which you can sometimes hear. Buddhika prepared very delicious dinners for us and provided everything we needed and more whilst being respectful of our privacy. We took a trip to sinharaja national park (1h by car and then 3-4hours in the park with a guide) for a very reasonable price and again Buddhikas service was exceptional! On the way to matara we wanted to buy some tea and he took us to his family’s factory and we got a free tour and an interesting tasting. All in all we had a great stay and a very peaceful and calming experience!

You have to leave your car on a parking spot from where you're transfered few kms by a jeep. We haven't had any issues with the natural noise of waterfall and felt asleep as soon as our heads touched pillows. The house is simple yet comfortable. The hot water might have been a bit hotter though. Breakfast and dinner were fine. People working there are nice and friendly.

I had an absolutely amazing stay at Rainforest Next! The value for money is incredible—each bungalow is separate and overlooks lush rice fields that blend into the rainforest, creating a truly peaceful and immersive experience. The room itself was comfortable, with a big veranda and a cozy double bed where I fell asleep to the soothing sounds of the jungle. The couple running the place go above and beyond to make sure every guest feels at home. Even though I arrived past midnight, there was no hesitation in preparing a meal for me, which I really appreciated. The next morning, I enjoyed a delicious complimentary breakfast made exactly to my request. The portions are generous, so if you prefer smaller servings, it might be good to mention it. One of the highlights of my stay was the private rainforest tour with the owner, who is a professional guide. It was such a fun and educational experience—his ability to spot animals is just unreal! After an adventurous day, we returned to a fantastic homecooked meal that was the perfect way to end the evening. Unfortunately, I fell ill overnight, but the care and concern from the hosts made all the difference. They were genuinely worried and made sure I had everything I needed, which I truly appreciated. Overall, Rainforest Next is a hidden gem—beautiful surroundings, wonderful hospitality, and an experience you won’t forget. Highly recommend!

The whole experience was amazing. From the warm welcom through the beautiful room with great view. And Hemel , the owner that is a gifted guide to the rainforest. So kind and nice and at the same time knowlagble and quick to spot every living thing. They are a young couple with a little girl that own and run this amazing g place. I stayed at Sinharaja Pitadeniya Hut in Lankagama during our research work in Sinharaja, and it was an excellent experience! The location is ideal—conveniently close to the main road and within easy access to both the Lankagama and Pitadeniya entrances of Sinharaja Forest Reserve. This made it very practical for our research activities. The food was another highlight. Breakfast was included in the price and featured authentic local dishes, which were both delicious and satisfying. The host was incredibly friendly and supportive, always ensuring we were comfortable and had everything we needed for our stay. The accommodation itself was spacious, clean, and well-maintained, providing a comfortable environment to relax after a day of work. Staying at rainforest cabin was an unforgettable experience. It was so lovely to stay tucked away from the main tourist traps and support this family owned business. Ravindra was amazing and so generous with his time and energy whether it be bringing us delicious home cooked meals (made by his mother) or showing us secluded swimming spots/waterfalls! To get to the cabin (as is it secluded) you have to walk approx. 8 minutes and cross two streams which for us made the stay even more of an adventure. Also, the natural swimming pool 100m from the cabin was a highlight! Absolutely loved staying here and hope to visit again in the future.
