Olinda Galle is a small, super charming, very well located hotel just a 20 min from Galle center. The rooms are very spacious and cozy, the baths which were built to incorporate nature are a true privilege experience. The delicious breakfast, served on the terrace area outside of the room is also a highlight . The owner and host is super kind and attentive. Every minute of our stay was truly special. Location is perfect. The only hotel in the beach, there is no one a couple of kilometers each side. For comparison, if you go to Unawatuna you will see the difference, the very negative one. Service. The staff is very nice. Restaurant food is gorgeous. Have compared it with the best restaurants in Galle. Beach and view from the balcony are very nice.

This is the hotel we liked the most during our stay in Sri Lanka. It’s situated next to the lagoon. The room is spacious, bed comfortable, delicious breakfast & very kind and friendly staff. The river safari is also agréable, we’ve seen different animals. If we come back to Sri Lanka, here is the place we want to stay again.

We recently stayed two nights at Ceylon Olive and overall, it was a wonderful experience. The cleanliness of the property was impeccable, and the location was perfect — close to key attractions yet tucked away in a peaceful area, making it the ideal retreat. The property itself was charming, with a lovely pool and a small garden that added a serene touch to the environment. One of my favorite parts was having breakfast served on the balcony — a truly relaxing start to the day, surrounded by nature. However, I should mention that the property has stairs, which may not be ideal for senior citizens. It did pose some difficulty for the older members of our group, as there was no elevator, making it less senior-friendly. This was more so since it rained making the stairs slippery. That said, the host was incredibly accommodating, always available to help and make sure we had everything we needed. I’d recommend this property to anyone looking for a peaceful and beautiful stay in Galle, as long as they are aware of the stairs.

We were greeted with plush, icy hand towels to wipe away the heat and grime of our travel. After a very relaxed check-in, we were given complimentary iced teas (fabulous!) and invited to attend the nightly flag lowering ceremony on the roof - which we did. This hotel is in a brilliant location - within walking distance to everything, and right in the heart of the old fort. The ambience is both eclectic and an homage to old Sri Lanka, with many old photos and artefacts skillfully arranged to create an inviting environment. The breakfast, which is a point of pride, is fabulous - beautiful, fresh food, carefully presented in a lovely dining room. They even catered for my dietary restrictions, replacing the french toast with a fluffy omelette. The staff are amazing - professional, friendly, generous and kind. Nothing was too much trouble and we were treated with the greatest of hospitality. We are so glad that we chose Prince of Galle as our final stay in Sri Lanka - it was a delightful end to a wonderful holiday.
