The chateau museum, exhibition and tour was fantastic.
The chateau museum, exhibition and tour was fantastic. Highly recommend taking the time to see the exhibition before touring the chateau. We also took the chairlift up to the high viewing point and had a few drinks. Not the cheapest but nowhere in Luxembourg is cheap. The views were great and it was worth the trip. We also visited the newly refurbished open air swimming pool which the kids loved and added a bit of relaxation to the trip. It was very clean and well maintained. It’s very beautiful and cozy city with great views. Not a lot of fancy restaurants but there are few decent one. A lot of things to do there, hiking, visit castle, walk around the city. The area is fantastic for a motorcycling holiday.
The area is fantastic for a motorcycling holiday. You can get there easily in a day, just use the autoroutes for the first couple of hours to get past the boring bit of France and Belgium. The roads in the area are really good for riding, very good surface, no gravel, all types of bens - fast sweepers to hairpins. The town is very bike friendly. Although it is a 3-star hotel, the service feels more like a solid 4. The hotel is very quiet, which makes it an excellent place to get real rest – we slept wonderfully. Our junior suite had a beautiful view, which made the stay even more enjoyable. A tip for travelers: make sure to reserve a parking spot in advance, as spaces are limited and prepared individually for each guest. Room was clean, beds was comfortable and from balcony directly view to the mountains and castle Vianden. Swimming pool with view to the castle, gym and sauna gratis give nice relax moments during the stay. We enjoyed also the dinner. Location is also what I liked- in the center and still not too noisy, Make a few steps and you can take nice walk along the river and even not 1 Km to the caste Vianden. The room was comfortable and during the night it was quiet. We stayed only one night, we found free parking for the car on the opposite bank of the river. The breakfast was very good.
