I wish I could rate 20 out of 10, such amazing was this place! Burgeoning colourful little coral reef just some 20 meters from the beach, own hotel minizoo feat friendly giant tortoises, horses, rabbits...,, own boathouse offering free kayaks,,, plus complimentary electric taxis within 25 ha resort premises, amazing food, luxury room... Very nice detail which I did appreciated was the departure lounge: after check-out you can wait by the pool for your transfer and then use shower in the lounge. Everything really beyond expectations!

This hotel is a hidden gem, offering a wonderful, tranquil atmosphere and an immediate sense of peace and relaxation. The Staff are exceptionally professional, and genuinely attentive. A special thanks to Mr. Kiran who went above and beyond to ensure my stay was flawless. The private pool is absolutely amazing, as well as the outdoor area. The rooms are super comfortable and hard to leave. Particularly enjoyed the beach- so peaceful, with plenty of picturesque spots.

I had travelled to Mauritus to receive my award “The “Africa Women Leadership Award “ which event was held nearby. At Ravenala it turned out to be a surprise holiday and into a celebration mood... the interesting activities on the sea, the visit to the island and swim with dolphins, a gentleman called Atish on the boat made sure I get a seat and also had the beatific water games . Thank very much to all staff of the hotel. It's really very nice and very relaxed place. Room vas big and nice, restaurant exllent. Very quet place. Perfect for the couple and family vacation. Small hotel and as the end of the vacation you feel like all guest, you and staff one big family. I do reccomend everyone to come. Beach is nice, water beautiful. We was for Christmas period and hotel organized many nice events to enjoy this time. Thank you to all staff from the hotel, we really felt like home.

One of the best hotels we stayed at in Mauritius. Spotlessly clean with excellent daily housekeeping, and incredibly friendly, helpful staff. It was an absolute pleasure to be there. The location is great – just a 2-minute walk along the shore to Mont Choisy Beach. It would, of course, be wonderful if the hotel had its own beach, but the property itself is very small, cozy, and intimate. The hotel grounds are beautifully green, and the view from the pool is simply stunning. The only downside was that our room was the closest to the road, so we could hear traffic noise, especially in the mornings when trucks passed by. Apart from that, everything was fantastic – especially the cleanliness of the rooms, the friendliness, hospitality, and willingness to help from the staff. I, unfortunately, didn’t remember their names, but the lady at the reception and the gentleman who carried our luggage to the room were the best! We met them every day during our week-long stay, and it was always nice to exchange a few words and feel like a truly valued guest. Staff score: 100 out of 100!

    Balaclava is not the most lively part of Mauritius which suited us perfectly. It consists mostly of vegetable fields, forests and small hamlets. The coast is getting developed with hotels but each is keeping its space so it doesn't feel crowded. You need to rent a car or get a taxi to visit the nearest town, Pamplemousses. There you have the old sugar factory, botanical gardens and a very pleasant shopping mall with a food supermarket.

    Although it was very hot and humid but there always was a...

    Although it was very hot and humid but there always was a cooling breeze along the coast. Couldn`t fault the staff, always very friendly an helpful and the room service was excellent, clean and efficient. We were not a young couple (in out 70s and 80s) and preferred to stay and enjoy the restful facilities of the resort. We could see that young couples with children were having a good time and were more likely to travel around the island in the heat.

    Balaclava is remote so no opportunity to walk anywhere.

    Balaclava is remote so no opportunity to walk anywhere. We were fine with a good dinner and the occasional musician but some might find it boring. We used a driver but if not then you’d need a car to get round the island. It was cyclone season so mixed weather but in general the North of the island has drier sunnier weather than the South.

    wonderful and chearful resort design, I liked it so much.

    wonderful and chearful resort design, I liked it so much. there are free and paid activities it is very good for families. 12 minutes from seewoosagur ramgoolam botanic garden and 15 minutes from port luis by taxi. there are 2 resturants and bar on the beach, there is delicious hot snack bufffet ( 4 - 5 pm).

    Had the most fantastic time at the Westin it really was paradise . The staff went above and beyond for my 60th birthday with a delicious chocolate cake, petals messsge on the bed and even the ladies at my massage had made a birthday message from petals . The food was abundant and amazing we were half board . All of the staff were so courteous and attentive. We were in an amazing room that opened up right on the ocean . Thank you Westin for the best hotel stay ever !

    From the arrival to the stay, everything has been impeccable. The room was beautiful, the view was to die for! The service was perfect, especially the professionalism. The warm welcome and kindness of Mr Kevin, the front desk manager was exceptional. I felt i had a staff member dedicated to me personally. He deserves a bouquet of flowers. May Intercontinental Hotels train their employees using him as a model. My thanks to all the other lovely staff as well.
