    Guanajuato is a UNESCO World Heritage site, that should tell you everything! However I would not recommend it for anyone who has mobility issues because the streets & alleyways are incredibly steep & the cobblestone streets & sidewalks are hazardous & uneven.

    Really great and interesting city.

    Really great and interesting city. Lot's of places to eat, really fun to walk around and see all of the layered architecture, awesome people watching, and the zocalo / jardin was a peaceful place to sit and enjoy the culture. We were there for 3 days and I feel that is enough time to really get a sense of the city and what it has to offer.

    We have visited many cities in Mexico but Guanajuato is definitely our favorite! It is a beautiful city, with colorful houses built on the hills throughout the valley. Cars drive under the city through tunnels so the historic center is all walking streets. The streets meander throughout the city center, creating a world of unlimited adventure for anyone who likes to walk and explore. Musicians playing everywhere! Fabulous restaurants! Small specialty shops with high quality merchandise! And, few American tourists.

    Walk all over this beautiful city!

    Walk all over this beautiful city! Enterbel Teatro Juárez, take ttevfujicular to el Pípila, visit the Diego Rivera house museum. Check out the Don Quixote museum as well as the museum of las momias. Visit the alleyway of the kiss, dine at one of the many great restaurants on Pósito. Take a taxi through the underground tunnels, visit the plazas at night for live music, try some ice cream, book a private tour guide to walk around everywhere with you on Trip Advisor.

    We absolutely loved Guanajuato.

    We absolutely loved Guanajuato. It's a wonderful strolling city with many superb cafes and restaurants, beautiful buildings, and a laid back atmosphere. We took the funicular twice, once during the day and once at night and were happy we did.

    View was incredible. Owners were on site, ready to explain the most interesting facts about their hotel. Fresh eggs available daily. Well outfitted and outstandingly decorated. Water, spices, microwave popcorn and other items in kitchen for guests' use. Easy and interesting walk down many stairs to Centro, but not difficult. Took taxi back. Hosts were the best.
