NetherlandsVery pleasant stay and a great experience!
We stayed 3 nights at Saul's Finca. He was very kind and welcoming and helped us a lot with organizing our trip. Communication was super easy and fast. The place is well equipped for some home-cooking, has a very comfy terrace and most other necessities. However, 'it is not a hotel', as Saul says. You'll stay in the middle of the nature surrounded by tons of birds, monkeys and yes: insects. With great river views it is a really special place.
You can get to El Castillo in a 25-30 minute walk, or by boat taxi. The Finca itself is great to explore, and Saul offers a tour where he gives you a lot of information and shows you around including a tasting of different varieties of his honey. Saul and his team have transformed the place into a place where they grow a lot of organic and biological crops. His vision on finding a balance between nature, agricultural development and local entrepreneurship are admirable. For us this was a great experience and we would love to get back one day.
