I loved the very name from the start!
I loved the very name from the start! My first impressions the moment I arrived were positive, the younger lady at the reception gave me useful instructions on how to reach the centre of Amsterdam, which buses and trams to take; helpful with calling the taxi; the choice of food and drinks for the breakfast was vast and abundant, the lady very discrete and kind; other persons at the reception desk also very kind and helpful; I also loved the beautiful and friendly cat waiting for me sleeping in the armchair in front of the hotel, when I arrived late in the evening, giving that "being at home" impression. Use public transport where possible as its easy, clean, efficient and good value for money. Would recommend Villa Borghese and Gusto as nice restaurants for an evening out. It is a metro+tram ride away from Amsterdam Centraal, and around a 20 minute tram from all the museums etc. Definitely too far out if you’re not willing to use public transport, but it was a very regular service from the nearby tram stop and very easy to use. Took earplugs based on reviews about the noise. They weren’t needed, it wasn’t any noisier than any other hotel i’ve stayed at. Staff were so friendly and nice. Hotel was very clean! There is even a mini-store in the reception area to buy snacks, toiletries, sandwiches etc. The prices were expensive but that’s Amsterdam for you! The tram station is located about 1 minute away from the property which is handy.
