I really liked that the room was clean, warm, and fully equipped. The room temperature could be adjusted properly, but for other hotels, it was just a lie. The bathroom, shower, and toilet were excellent. Over the past month, I have stayed in a different hotel in Amsterdam each week. Twenty-Three Hotel was the best among them. Even though I had paid for a King Double room at The Social Hub Amsterdam West, the facilities at Twenty-Three Hotel were far superior to all the others. Mercier Hotel Amsterdam was also good, but the touch pad or climate control system in all these hotels—Mercier, The Social Hub Amsterdam West, and Vienna House Schiphol—did not work properly. They were just gimmicks designed to waste the guest’s time. However, Twenty-Three Hotel was truly exceptional. One unwritten rule I have come to realize about hotels in Amsterdam is this: Avoid hotels that have green energy or energy-saving certifications. You end up paying the same price—or sometimes even more—than hotels without these certifications, but you receive fewer and lower-quality services. Colder rooms Climate control systems that don’t work properly and are just for show Shower systems that fail to provide a proper supply of hot water due to so-called green certifications And many similar issues This is my personal opinion, based on my experiences over the past month in these hotels. But Twenty-Three Hotel was the best of them all. In the rooms of Twenty-Three Hotel, beautiful mirrors are installed, along with a motivational quote poster that gives the guest a very positive feeling.

Very good breakfast with lots of options. Nice lounge bar with snacks and a full menu restaurant, if one is really hungry; no need to go out for a dinner. The hotel location is perfect with only 4 minutes train connection from/to Schiphol airport.

Quiet Suburb near Amsterdam Airport

Hoofddorp represents one of those typical Dutch engineering marvels. Created after the draining of a lake and surrounding marshlands, it is today a mix of the traditional Dutch and ultimate modernity. Hoofddorp is located next to Schiphol International Airport and less than 30 minutes by train to Amsterdam city centre.

Founded in the mid-19th century after the draining of the Haarlemmer Lake, the town still maintains old typical houses, an old fort, and the 1856 windmill called ‘De Eersteling’, or ‘The First’. But the town is mostly known today as a tranquil suburb of Amsterdam, as well as an important hub where several companies have built their modern headquarters.

From Hoofddorp Railway Station you can reach the main hall of Schiphol International in less than 10 minutes by train. Links to Leiden, Utrecht and The Hague are also available, as well as numerous bus lines.

Hotels in Hoofddorp can be found in the city and near the railway station, but most of them are actually in the premises of Amsterdam Airport. Booking.com offers a variety of deals in and around the town.

    A very good hotel, spacious rooms, a nice and large lobby and well connected to public transport and the airport. I wouldn't stay here in summer though, the windows open a crack and there is very little ventilation.

    Amsterdam overall was very dissappointing destination. The city is very overpopulated, dirty (trash and bikes everywhere) , chaotic (if you are travelling by car) and people are not really nice. The traffic is horrible, so if you are not used to live in city this big and crowdy, you will not be very pleased. We visited Rijk Museum, it was very interesting. If you are anything like us, it was worth going through even if we are not interested in art that much. I suppose if you are, that will be heaven for you. I can recommend trying out The Stroopwafel Workshop on Albert Cuyp street. It was very nice experience, with instructor Jack, of course. The Zoo Artis in the city was not so pretty, as maybe expected from zoo in the middle fo the city. You can see the animals from very close, because they have very little enclosures. It is made more for us to watch than for the animals to live at last a decent life. They looked very stressed to me, because there was nowhere for them to hide. The only part that was unique was the butterfly pavilon, I have never seen so many of them up close. For restaurants, if you like asian food, then you have to try Mr.Chen on Linnaeusstraat 18-h. The food was exquisite, whether you try fried noodles, sushi, gyoza, ramen, everything was perfect. I am happy that I visited this city once to try these tourist destinations, but I would not be coming back in the future. The overall city vibe was not for me, as I am not so social, and prefer cultured and more considerate people. With people there, it was bad experience for me. Sorry for the few, that were actually nice to us. Mostly staff.

    Hoofddorp is a 20 minute regional train ride from Amsterdam Centraal. The Hampton Hilton Hotel is about a 5 minute walk from the Hoofddorp train station. Hoofddorp seems to be a safe bedroom community near Amsterdam.

    Very convenient location near enough to the airport and...

    Very convenient location near enough to the airport and connections via public transport, yet very charming and peaceful, with clean streets and plenty of space and greenery. Shops and restaurants galore within walking distance. Excellent tracks to ride a bicycle, best way to explore around.

    I went on a riverboat cruise from Amsterdam to Basel in Switzerland. The riverboat stopped in France, Germany in many small villages and towns, ending up in Basel, Switzerland. I stayed four nights in Basel before I flew back to Amsterdam. Stayed overnight in Amsterdam and flew back to Toronto, canada the following day.

    Very comfortable.

    Very comfortable. Reception staff are really helpful and welcoming. 24/7 they were available. I did not notice there were lots of discount rates vouchers available. Please point this out to customers so they can take full advantage of this.

    If you need to stay near the hotel for a night or two then this newly constructed hotel is a great choice. Just one stop by frequent train from Schiphol Airport, and then walk the path from Hoofddorp station that takes you right to the hotel. The hotel has only recently been constructed so everything is super clean and new inside. And there was no aircraft noise at all from the airport.

    The size of the room was beyond expectation. Big and spacious. The general cleanliness was very good. The staff were truly professional, polite and efficient. First time staying there. I was pleasantly surprised. The shuttlebus service was excellent. We had free parking at the hotel and used the bus to get to the airport, then the train into Amsterdam.

    Good hotel on a very strategic location. Next to an important busstop that can bring you everywhere within 30 minutes (Schiphol 5 min/Amsterdam city centre 25 min/Several Trainstations in the neighbourhood) The hotel is clean and very well designed. We only slept there, the room was nice, we had a good nights rest. No complaints!
