The closest you can really get to Manu National Park without being on a tour
Access to a huge amount of primary jungle so was perfect for taking lots of photos of creatures
A hot spring is available 24/7
You can fish for free on the Madre De Dios river
Meals are available, made using ingredients from the property. The cooking is very good and very reasonably priced
The owner & host, Johan, is very friendly and relaxed, and is very organised and on top of things

Shintuyu Hot Springs has beautifully local engineered pool landscaped in natural environment, where I was able to watch monkeys eating in nearby trees, a humming bird extract nectar from bright red flowers next to the pool, beautiful butterflies of various colours flutter by. I visited waterfalls - one of which is the most impressive in my recent memory. Jhohan paid attention to my needs and is from the local area with lots of knowledge to share covering culture, plant and animal life, the water sources; river & hot springs.
