The setting of this hotel resort property in Ilocas Norte was stunning. Nice room. Authentic Spanish colonial doors and trim. The clean, well-maintained Infinity pool and Vista over the lake toward the former "northern Malacang" (which apparently has a museum dedicated to Marcos) were hard to beat. A rare find and a peaceful getaway! Good meals (dinner and breakfast). Management was very professional, and friendly in conversation. Rooms have great air-conditioning.

I had a great stay at Balai Balatong while on a business trip. The room was well-maintained, and the bed was super comfortable. The service was excellent, and the swimming pool was a great bonus. Looking forward to my next visit!

I stayed a total of 3 weeks in Laoag and frequently switched between the budget places. In this price range, I decidedly liked Riton Apartelle best. It's secluded enough for some quiet time (which is rare in Laoag), but not too secluded. It only took a few minutes on foot to good restaurants (near Northwestern Uni) and a co-working spot (with an outstanding cafe next to it). Price/Value is excellent imo.

For me it was a great area with many food stands right outside at all hours. The staff was excellent! So kind and helpful. I´ve got a really big room aswell with a fairly big TV with Netflix pre- installed, wihich is good in the evenings.
