FAQs about hotels in Lisbon

Food, Fado and Fun in Lisbon

Facing the Tagus River and built on seven hills, charming Lisbon is one of the oldest cities in the world. It offers unique tram rides, intimate Fado performances, great dining venues and much more.

The city is famous for its districts: the Belém's famous monuments; the Alfama's labyrinthine streets, bars and small shops; and the trendy Alcântara's docks. Lisbon’s most popular nightlife and shopping venues are located in Bairro Alto, while the traditional heart of the city beats rhythmically in the Baixa.

Enjoy a walk in the greenery of Jardim Botânico, admire the architecture of the Jerónimos Monastery or explore Feira da Ladra flea market. The Chiado area serves the city's best traditional Portuguese food. No meal is complete without some famous pastéis de nata!

Getting to the city centre is only a metro or bus ride from Lisbon Portela Airport. Whether you want a luxury hotel, a friendly guesthouse or a cosy apartment, Booking.com has plenty of accommodations for your holiday in Lisbon.

Lisbon is one of the oldest capitals in Europe.

Lisbon is one of the oldest capitals in Europe. It's old town is a maze of cobblestone streets filled with shops, cafes, and restaurants. There are many places where you can explore its history including the National Pantheon, Lisbon Cathedral, and Castelo de São Jorge. There are also many wonderful cafes and restaurants - Simply Coffee, Organi Chiado, and As Bifanas do Afonso were some of my favorites. Comfortable walking shoes are essential. Lisbon is hilly and the narrow cobblestone sidewalks can be challenging and hard on your feet.

Beautiful city, with too many hystorical thing to visit. Just check before visiting because some of them are closed like Belem pallace for restoring and the elevator Santa Justa. Buy Lisbon city card it helps a lot a you have free tram, metro, and tickets for some monasterys paid with it and for some you have discount. Paid tour for Sinthra,Pena Pallace and Quinta de Regaleira with get you guide is excellent.

Sunny Lisbon on the wide Tagus estuary is fascinating, with distinctive historic areas to explore by foot. The hilly terrain means great views and make the trams and metro essential ways to get around. These now supplemented by tour buses and (too many) tuk tuks. The lengthy high season is very crowded. Next time I will take in the many new museums. You can easily get out of town, to nearby Sintra, Cascais, Belem, and river cruises, all essential..

There area we stayed was busy, lots of see and do. I found it to be little more expensive than expected. The taxi's we used on occasion preferred cash. Uber works well. It is worth taking the time to travel outside of Lisbon even if day trips.

Only stayed 2 days and only visited some areas - old town (Bairro Alto ) Tagus river. Rossio area, Gulbenken modern art gallery, El Corte Ingles, Praca do Comercio.Praca des Restauradores. Ate at the Rossio area in an outside wine restaurant and at the El Corte Ingles. Metro easy to use, buy tickets at the airport metro or metro stations. Buy a card and load money or a 24 ticket. Plenty of other places to visit which I didn’t manage on this trip - the castle, Belem, - and outside Lisbon Sintra for a day trip.

I arrived at the hotel three hours late after being stuck in the immigration queue at Europe's worst airport, Lisbon. At nearly 1am, the staff were amazing, and a very welcome sight. The room was really nice, breakfast was available from 4am, which was important as I wanted to get back to the airport at least 4 hours early. Location was perfect. Less than 5 minutes walk to Terminal 1. One of my best hotel experiences for quite some time.

Everything! The kindness of all staff was superb, the hotel was the best so far in my life based on value-price. It's not a luxury hotel, plain and simple, but based on the equipments and the kindness and comfortability it feels like a 4-5 stars hotel. Breakfast was also in big variety, tasty, fresh pastries and fit for the need.

The hotel is like a boutique hotel: my room was quirky and clean, it's positioned in one of the best spots of Lisbon, the patio is a real surprise and allows for quiet and peace in what can be quite a puzzling city. The breakfast is delicious with fresh food and coffee. A hidden gem!
