A cute and unique property. The property had everything we needed for a short stay. The views around the property are amazing. Very comfortable deck chairs to sit outside. We received a very warm welcome from our hosts on the day. The breakfast was amazing lots of fruit and bread and croissants delivered on the morning.

From the moment we arrived, it was obvious we were going to enjoy being here. In fact, in the end, we spent a lot of time in the house simply because it's such a lovely place to be. Quiet neighbourhood, breathtaking view from the balcony, extremely comfortable beds, and a properly equipped kitchen. Susana, our host, has thought of everything but is always open to new ideas!

The most beautifully restored 2-bedroom home in a very small, authentic village just outside Penacova in the Dao Valley. Spacious and incredibly well appointed, with a warm and welcoming vibe. Victor went out of his way to make us feel at home and share his passion for this region: its natural beauty, fantastic wines, unique cheeses and meats. We had a wonderful stay and would return in a heartbeat. The region has so much to offer and Victor is a font of knowledge. His advice was invaluable. Big rooms and Living room. Clean backyard. Shower. Silence. Its perfect for a family with kids. We were 2 couple and a kid. A single bathroom is not enough. This can only be blame to ourselves. Have not paid attention to this detail.

The location was spot on for us, lovely views, easy to find, all facilities around us. Host was brilliant, We had an issue with wifi and he sorted it staright away, checked through text everything was ok for us. great guy.

    The whole experience was much better thanks to the...

    The whole experience was much better thanks to the hospitality of the manager (José) and the owner (Joāo) They took care of things and kept asking questions to customise my experience at the place. so with a lovely accommodation with breathtaking 180 degree view and such cozy, beautiful city I exceeded my expectations about Penacova. You could be at Swiss alps, such high hills and astonishing valleys finishing at Montego River. I will come back again and staying at the same accomodation !

    A sleepy little town that is all but closed up on Sundays.

    A sleepy little town that is all but closed up on Sundays. There is a grocery store in the town of Penacova and thankfully it is open on Sundays. Strongly recommend that you bring a car if you plan to wander around.

    The views from the hilltop where the town centre is situated...

    The views from the hilltop where the town centre is situated are fabulous. There isn’t a lot to do in the town but there are some good facilities eg Cota restaurant and Cafe Turismo. In the warmer weather the river beach is an asset. If you are looking for a quiet place off the beaten track Penacova is for you.

    Lovely old style pension. We had a large room with a small balcony and great views. Good location. But nothing is far away in Penacova. Good meal by the swimming pool and nice pastelaria close by for breakfast.
