Just off the camino this property was both well located and remote in a lovely way. We had a nice size room, clean, modern facilities and a small kitchen. It was very relaxing! The owner was very nice and helped out with several things. We were lucky enough to be there when the "bread guy" was coming and bought fresh bread for a great price.

    I ended up at the fantastic museum National Museum Machado de Castro (highly recommended) in Penela, only to drive away 2 1/2 hours later and pass by so many other beautiful and amazing buildings (part of the University) I wish I had more time to explore :)

    The staff were exceptional, they went above and beyond to ensure our needs were met. I have stayed in many hotels but this was, by far the best customer service I have experienced. The food was declious, the location is beautiful with stunning grounds and surrounding area.
