A nice town, with a moderate-sized beach, a good range of restaurants in all classifications, some historical stuff, and a modern but still cosy atmosphere. Great for a week of leisure, beach, trips into the beautiful natural environment, and all. It is relatively close to Lisbon, but can be a difficult to reach by public transport. (Many routes are possible, depending on your day, time , and preferences.) Just go through it, spend 2 hours on the transfer, enjoy the view, the towns, and locals. We visited (a.o.) 2 great places for dinner: Black Coffee Sical (not just coffee, but also lovely meals and all) BATEL (a bit pricy, but OMG, what a tasty dishes they served us) Enjoy the food and atmosphere of these two contrasting places ! And one surprising hub on the beach promenade: the Gelatomania, an outlet for ice-creams, pancakes, waffles, coffees, and many more indulgences. Always busy, fast staff, and just delicious. Popular among young and old crowd, locals, tourists, families, caring couples, solo travellers, casual friends and thirsty dogs. Sesimbra is our preterred destination for some days os holidays en Portugal. Good restaurants, tipical city, well maintained and improvement in services. Sesimbra is a rather isolated place (we were there in may) with clean wonderful sea, many restaurants (SoSal was the best for us) where one can enjoy sea view and relax in a cosy atmosphere. Beautiful enviroment, friendly host. Accomodation complete. Lissabon half an hour drive. If you're self-supporting all good supermarkets in a short distance, but you need definitly a car. Very comfortable, light and spacious room with large balcony. Good, generous breakfast. WE didn't eat in the restaurant but had nice, imaginative, snack meals in the bar. As well as swimming in the sea, just a couple of minutes away, we used the outdoor and (heated) indoor pools as well. Friendly, helpful staff everywhere.
