We are very pleased with the hotel. Everything is top level. We arrived late, around 12 midnight, but we were still greeted in the best possible way. The room was bright and cozy. This is a must hotel stay in Amarante! We truly enjoyed our stay at this beautiful boutique hotel in a beautiful part of Portugal! We plan to return to this hotel and area to spend more time exploring the wineries, town and overall nearby Douro region. A big thanks to the hotel staff in the restaurant, front desk and housekeeping for helping make our experience memorable and relaxing.

Waking up at Quinta de Carcavelos, overseeing the greenery, is just so peaceful and delightful. Breakfast is super tasty, with fresh juice, fruit, yummy bread, among many other delicious things. The whole 'quinta' is beautifully decorated and Ana is a wonderful host, always making sure we felt at home. Definitely recommend!

Beautiful spot, lovely rooms and nice facilities. We'd have stayed longer if they weren't booked up already. We loved the lemon tree outside our room and the breakfast was lovely!
