Staff was amazing as well as the accommodation. Everything was very clean, bed was good to sleep in and they have a cafe downstairs which offers very good breakfast (not included in room price but bery reasonable prices). Warmly recommend to try their smoothie bowl. Parrots, which are allowed to fly freely at the area, gave an extra special touch for our visit!

This is the most amazing place we stayed in Portugal. A grand old, but modernized, home, Marta and Iker have created a welcoming, pleasant and restful place to explore and rejuvenate while on a tour of Portugal. Whether hiking mountain trails or just reading a book and listening to your playlist, this is the place. Breakfast is great. As an extra special item Iker is a chef and cooks up exquisite dinners. Gorgeous spa hotel in the Dao wine region. Clean, comfortable, spacious rooms with a natural, Zen-like decor and ambiance. Spa facilities are very nice and welcoming there are many services offered. We had dinner at the hotel restaurant both nights. Elevated Portuguese cuisine well prepared and served. Excellent wine list and the servers are able to suggest the perfect pairing for your meal. Nelas is a small quiet town about an hour’s drive to the Serra da Estrela. Perfect place to stay to relax and enjoy nature. Lovely staff.

The town is the administrative centre for a group of villages, with a museum, town hall and the usual shops, including three large supermarkets. Tondela is spread along a steep hill on Route N2. There is access to the Ecopista da Dao cycleway which stretches for 48 km along a former railway track, now asphalted. Nearby is the remarkable Museu do Caramulo with a wonderful collection of historic and classic cars and motorcycles.

Tondela is a small town but has everything you could need.

Tondela is a small town but has everything you could need. They have a football ground, bus station, a lovely park and the people are very friendly. It is easy to walk around the town which is just as well as no public transport. I have eaten at a few places in the town and have never had bad food either in snack bars or restaurants. I can recommend Joaninha's for coffee, snacks and pastries, and also Green's in the park for light snacks and drinks. The Vintage Caffe is great for meals and 3 Pipos just outside town for a special meal.

Tondela is a small town about 90 minutes from Porto.

Tondela is a small town about 90 minutes from Porto. I originally stayed as my son and daughter in law had a flat there whilst looking for property. There are plenty of restaurants and takeaways, shops and a lovely little park as well as a public swimming pool. There is a weekly market and everyone seems to be very friendly. It is a great base for a walking/cycling holiday especially with the Ecopista da Dao on the doorstep and cities such as Porto, Viseu and Coimbra not too far away or visits to the beaches at Aveiro or Figuera da Foz.

The hotel was very beautiful, equipped with all the appliances you can imagine. The rooms were clean and the beds are comfortable. The kitchen was also OK. We were waited with cookies and coffee which my colleagues appreciated very much. The price was also acceptable. The staff was great. We liked the parrots flying in the morning and we were also showed the little ones.

We had a lovely stay at this hotel! It’s beautifully surrounded by forest, which made it feel peaceful and close to nature. Everything was very clean and well-maintained. Our daughter especially enjoyed the trampoline and spending time with the animals — it was a highlight of the trip for her. A great place for families looking to relax in a natural setting.

The view from the hotel is nice, the breakfast was ok, the rooms were cozy and clean, I liked the balcony overlooking the valley. Parking was ok. There is also a pool, but we didn´t used it, there are quite a few steps to go down to the pool.
