Bușteni really is a gem in the Prahova Valley. Its relatively flat layout compared to nearby towns like Sinaia or Azuga does make it more walkable, especially for longer strolls without steep climbs. Being right at the foot of the Caraiman Peak with the Bucegi Mountains towering around gives it that dramatic, postcard-perfect backdrop. It's no wonder the town has become a favourite for both hikers and casual visitors alike. Beautiful Bucegi mountains views everywhere! That's why people come here! But you have to put up with bad traffic, especially weekends! Not much food choices - after 6 most fast food joins were for sweet food. The restaurants were not great - Sinaia has better choices. The grocery shops are ok, parking was fine and the place is walkable. A lot of the people did not speak English or pretended not to because we felt like they did not want to interact with us when paying or asking a question. Advice: if you come in peak season bring a car. The property is almost midway between Busteni and Sinaia and taxis will be a challenge to find when roads are busy. We knew this upfront (was a trade we were happy to make for a quiet stay). The property was easy to find and we could park right in front. Our room was spacious, clean, and had beautiful views of the Bucegi Mountains. The location is excellent, just next to the cable car.
