Lonely Planet describes Oskarshamn as (paraphrasing) "pleasant enough, but not interesting". The main reason to come here us to take a ferry, after all. I got to spend more time here than planned thanks to a last-minute ferry cancellation; while Oskarshamn is not a bad place to be stuck in for a night, it's definitely not something to put on your bucket list. Notes: - Restaurant Cecil is decent - Adels Hotel is very close to the Gotland Ferry terminal and quite cheap; the fact there is very little personnel on-site makes for an odd experience, though. - Oskarshamn is pretty small and walkable, but somewhat hilly.Guest review byJohannes

Literally a 2 minute walk. On arrival the outside of the hotel looked a bit shabby but once inside it was fine. We had no problems checking in and not having staff on site.
