Enjoyed visiting the Mevlana Museum, well laid out and well preserved. Visited Allaaddin Hill -- a pleasant place to sit, rest and reflect. Impressions from Visiting Konya
Impressions from Visiting Konya Visiting Konya was a very special experience. As a significant religious center, it stands out as quite different from other places in Turkey. One of the most positive aspects I noticed was that nearly all museums are free of charge for all visitors—not just Turkish citizens—which is a major plus. Although I didn’t use public transportation myself because my hotel was located outside the city center, the system appeared to be well-organized. For future travelers, I would recommend staying in or near the city center with access to the tram network, which makes it easy to reach all parts of Konya. I also really enjoyed the local restaurants. They were easy to find, offered a wide variety of traditional Turkish dishes, and maintained a high standard of hygiene. The food was delicious, and the overall dining experience was very pleasant. Konya left a strong impression on me, and I would definitely recommend it to others looking for a culturally rich and well-managed destination in Turkey.Guest review byIrinaBelgium - 8.0

Public transport: I don't think that the information available online, that bank cards work on the bus or in the tram, is correct. We hired a car and visited several sights nearby such as Catalhoyuk Neolithic village (highly recommend), the butterfly park, the science museum and Sultanhani caravanserai. We enjoyed watching the Mevlana order whirling dervishes at the Mevlana Culture Centre on Saturday night and had kebap at the small night market outside, afterwards. A full weekend of excellent activities. Food in Konya is generally very good quality (better than Istanbul). Hire a car for the best experience.Guest review byKatieUnited Kingdom

Right in the Old Bazaar and 10 minutes walk to Mevlana Mosque. There was a cupboard in the room large enough to place all my things. I was so happy that the room does not smell tobacco. (these can be issues with similar small hotels in Konya). The owner Murat Bey was very helpful and quickly reacted to all my requests. Make sure to talk with him before ordering a taxi. We took a bullet train from Istunbol and reached Konya within 4 and a half hour , then 130 lita taxi took us to our hotel which was at the heart of the city center , the location is extremely awesome , you are few steps into the maulana Meauseum and city center!
