Had a great stay at the Joleen Safari Park Hotel. The Owner and staff are very professional and helpful in this new small hotel, which is well maintained and peaceful.There was always staff there 24 hours a day if you needed anything. I had some amazing local dishes for dinner but they would make what you like. The beaches are close by, beautiful, clean and empty , except for a for local fisherman. I had a few nice surf sessions and arranged though the hotel a cheap taxi and the driver was super nice and helpful who got me to all the best beaches. I stayed on for twice as long.

Excellent service and location. The staff were top notch. Fantastic garden with large fish pond. Very relaxing atmosphere. The rooms were excellent, clean and someone had thought through the lighting. lovely bathroom with best shower in Tanzania. The breakfast was excellent and the afternoon tea is not to be missed. Really pleasant atmosphere all over. I can only recommend this hotel.

Hotel is really nice and comfortable. Room was big, bed very comfortable. Tea and coffee provided in the room. Really close to ferry, like 8 min by walk. They have 24h restaurant so you can order food whenever you want, which is very convenient. Staff is really helpful.

Food is very affordable in Dar and there are plenty of food...

Food is very affordable in Dar and there are plenty of food options. Getting around Dar is so easy as you can use the Bolt app where it is affordable. I had dinner at Orchid Cafe which had a cozy vibe. Experienced night life in Wavuvi and Samaki Samaki and it was very memorable since they play all song genres. I experienced a Sunset Cruise in Dhow in Dar which was at Kigamboni and it was amazing especially when the sun sets.

Masaki was beautiful.

Masaki was beautiful. I went shopping at Kariakoo and uuugh it was crazy packed with traffic of people. I wouldn't advise it if you don't have to. Stay in Masaki, Oyster Bay, and the surrounding explore the beaches, bars, restaurants, and other hangout joints.

The beaches, people, nightlife and most of all the food. 1; For sunset= SLIPWAY 2; Food (anywhere its good just look for your cuisine) 3; For transportation, use bolt and Faras 4; Beaches in msasani ,kunduchi and kigamboni are clean and less crowded

I relocated from the Peacock Hotel to The Southern Sun Hotel...

I relocated from the Peacock Hotel to The Southern Sun Hotel, and this was the best decision I made. The coral beach and slipway were great to hang out at and eat. Bolt was the God sent and easy way to get around Dar es Salaam, and reasonably priced. I enjoy a trip to Zanzibar, which takes about 2 hours by boat, and its Tanzania's Paradise.

In Dar es Salaam, you can go on a safari to Saadani National Park, explore local culture at the Village Museum, relax on Coco Beach, shop for crafts at Kariakoo Market, or take a day trip for snorkeling at islands like Bongoyo Island.

Dar es Salaam is a great city if you know where to go.

Dar es Salaam is a great city if you know where to go. It’s best to be in a group or have a local host to truly enjoy your stay. I’d recommend avoiding driving in the city center due to the heavy crowds and constant traffic jams.

It is a perfect hotel for those who want to enjoy Dar es salaam. It's in the middle of the city so easily can get everywhere(ex. Coco Beach, Ferry terminal, main bus terminal, and even airport) within 15-30mins. Available hot water and air-conditioning 24/7. Wide and clean room with cozy bed.
