First of all i have to say that i didn’t look at the map while booking so i missed the fact that this guesthouse is not near any stores or restaurants. If I knew that maybe I wouldn’t book it and this would be a huge mistake! We loved this place sooooo much! We were lucky to be there all alone (me and my husband) without other guests and sometimes it really felt like home. Nice pool, nice beach, if you want anything to eat the amazing host Margaret has a menu of lunches and dinners and she is a great cook. This place is really for those who need some quiet private time. If you want to go for shopping and some other entertainment you can always ask for taxi to Nungwi. We did it once and then regretted cause this town was too busy and noisy we were happy to come back to Matumaini. Near the guesthouse there are couple of small zoos and also you can try several boat trips right from the guesthouse. Every day we had the nicest chats with Margaret and really enjoyed her company. All of the villa staff were very sweet. It broke my heart a little when we had to leave. Highly recommended, wonderful experience! Margaret we are happy to know you, miss you!

The hotel is wonderful. Every detail – from the elegant interiors to the perfectly maintained garden and pool – creates an atmosphere of top-level relaxation. The property is impeccably clean and well-kept, and the staff are friendly, professional, and attentive to every detail. Haber Hotel is a fantastic place! Small family hotel located in Matemwe, it offers comfort and quiet atmosphere for a relaxing holiday. I would recommend it to all those who want to avoid the big crowded noisy touristic hotels on the coast but in the same time want to stay close to beautiful beaches (nearby you can find Muyuni beach and Matemwe beach). The owners, Kris and Kasha, are great and would do everything to make the stay of the guests unforgettable. The staff is very kind and the whole dynamic of this property is tailored to fit the needs and comfort of the guests. Breakfast is fabulous, served from 8am till noon, for those who like to sleep in late, and for lunch and dinner we could chose delicious options from a rich menu or even off menu. Pets are welcome (the hotel is actually named after Haber, the owners' cute Cocker Spaniel). At any time of our stay we felt welcome, safe, well taken care of and even spoiled.

I booked this place for a special birthday and the hotel and its staff exceeded all of our expectations! They made us many surprises and everyone was so friendly and always smiling. The staff truly made the hotel special! The food was the best we had in all of Tanzania. Especially the fruity salad with seafood! We also loved the live music show during dinner, really cool music with a local vibe. And of course the pool area is great for relaxing. Asante sana once again!

We lived in 9 different hotels in 18 days, and this was our define favorite. At first our room were upgraded at arrival, and told us that our departure day, we could keep the room for free all day, as we had a late flight. The staff was so sweet, they helped and served us all we needed, but in a too much way. The hotel is the coziest place where you feel welcome and home. There is activities every day, but still very quiet, which we found perfect. And finally, the food was so nice. And there was cold water to fill all day.

The service was impeccable - from the security staff when entering and leaving the property, the reception staff always happy and eager to help, the restaurant staff was there to serve every step of the way and the excursion manager (Abdul) deserves a special mention. He arranged private tours for us and went above and beyond to make it comfortable for us. The property is remote, but everything you need is there.
