I stayed only one night in Karibu Beach Resort, but the place is really amazing. I can recommend it for the best holiday in Zanzibar. The staff is super professional, they don’t disturb during my relaxing time there. The breakfast have many options, every day different kind of meal 🥘 The beach is quiet without beach boys with white sand and many coconut palms. I stayed also in Kiwengwa and there were a lot of Masai who disturbed me. Here in Karibu Beach Resort was really perfect for me. The place was new and they upgrade my room to Apartment 🙂 The room was clean and huge. I thank all staff the place for making my one day to be really perfect! I will come back!

What makes this place truly unique is the Tikitam team - every guest enjoys personal attention from all staff members. Starting with the warm welcome at the reception with refreshing fruit juice, through the spotlessly clean villas and rooms, beds set up with beautiful flower arrangements, attentive waiters and chefs, who prepare every day fresh jams and sauces from local fruits and vegetables. The amazingly knowledgeable pool attendant, who knows the whole area by heart would gladly show you a gorgeous starfish or a spiky puffer, teach you how to weave your own palm leaf hat and even how to play the famous bao game. Should you feel a need to pamper yourself, professional spa therapist is there to help you unwind and enjoy the local spa products. Last, but not least - almost invisible, yet absolutely real, tall masái will be looking after your comfort and safety. Finally, the dinner served at the beach will be a memory for a lifetime. Everything was perfect! The staff extremely nice and helpful, the food was very tasty, there was every day a different choice freshly cooked. The room was calm, clean and comfortable. The hotel is located directly on the beach and has a big beautiful garden with many different relaxing places to chose to spend the day. As an addition are cute bushbabies living in the garden :) we really enjoyed our stay very much and would go back again any time!

    Pongwe Beach Hotel is a perfect place to stay for a relaxing vacation. The staff is friendly and helpful. The beach and grounds are beautiful and well maintained . We love that it peaceful and quiet with no loud music or jet skis. We enjoyed the program put on by the hotel staff that included the guests.

    It was amazing!!

    It was amazing!! Beautiful place and unbelievable accommodation. Food great . The service from the staff was the best ever !!! Both of us fell in love with all of the people working there . Cannot recommend Pongwe Island enough ❤️

    You need to take into consideration the feelings of your...

    You need to take into consideration the feelings of your visitors....we do not like being targeted by people pestering us to buy from them every time we go to the beach. It really is a negative factor of visiting your wonderful island paradise....it spoiled it for us. Also this happened to us on other beaches in Zanzibar so not just a Pongwe problem....its endemic to Zanzibar.

    TOA hotel is a good place to stay for a few days. Perfect to relax after a safari tour! the team is very efficient and professional with Ahmed and Hamdi for the housekeeping, Cecilia, Sam and Ester, all being always ready to help. A big thanks you to all.

    Pongwe is an isolated beach, at low tide the sea is very far...

    Pongwe is an isolated beach, at low tide the sea is very far away and, even at high tide, it is very shallow - you cannot swim. Kiwengwa beach, next door (10 minutes by car) is much better, more lively, with many shops and good hotels.

    Wonderful, kind and amazing staff, extremely polite and helpful; massage ladies were awesome, beautiful pool and rooms that were extremely comfortable and clean. Great food variety. Kitchen staff woke up early to make up breakfast so we could catch our flights. Good beach. The perfect quiet and private getaway in a beautiful location. Family friendly. Would definitely recommend it if you are looking for a small sized high-quality 5 star hotel. Would definitely go back again.

    I stayed at few hotels in Zanzibar and here it is different - original bush has been saved , added flowers and endemic plants.African style architecture blended inside the garden , tastefully decorated rooms and some villas, each has different theme. I like the local arts around.Pool on the secluded beach , so wonderfully relaxing …Life slows down🌴☀️The cuisine is absolutely delicious. I enjoyed Zanzibar traditional music band

No entertainment, you can walk along the beach in 30 minutes to the place where there are 4 nice hotels where you can eat well, and there is also a hotel and restaurant of a small island. Check the prices before.... Not everyone will enjoy them

    Hotel is located in Pongwe which is very quiet small town on the east coast. Right at the beach front, it's beautiful and enjoyable when high tide and not so windy. We liked also the snorkling experience with the local. Room was spacious and bed was massive and comfortable. Mostly wooden decor, it's ecological and also gives more local feelings.
