Cambria is a great small town with all the amenities you could want. Many great places to eat and shop. It has a nice grocery store that has everything you we need. Great for visiting Hearst Castle - the ‘Cottages and Kitchens’ tour was the better of the two tours we have been on. Moonstone Beach is atmospheric and there are some lovely clifftop walks available. Cambria is a delightful little town with a friendly population. This was our third visit there. Disappointingly, the PCH is currently closed between Cambria and Carmel (and has been since 2023) requiring a long and unattractive detour away from the coast. For our particular pleasures, Cambria is a nice quiet spot in which to relax and enjoy good food. We also enjoy playing golf and so Morro Bay and Paso Robles (Paso Robles Golf Club) are within easy driving distance and also feature some nice restaurants. For those who enjoy a longer list of activities, hiking, beach combing, wine tasting, shopping, surfing, are just a few of the many things you can do. It is very relaxing with easily accesible walking areas on a boardwalk near the beach. The beach is not the best for sunning and swimming, due to the area being very rocky. We were in the Hickory room, surronded by nature. At that time of the year, flowers are everywere .Wonderful! . Breakfast has home make cakes and biscuits. We felt like home. Nice stop on the way to LA The ocean is wilder in Cambria than in Cayakos and if f you have binoculars ,you can try to see whales and another maritime animals.
