We enjoyed exploring the Home Spit with all its shops to browse & nice places to dine. We would highly recommend the Harbor Grill Seafood & Steak Restaurant. Walking along the beach on the Spit with the fresh air & seeing the Seafarer's Memorial was very moving. We enjoyed the Alaska Islands & Ocean visitor center was very educational. The walking trail here were really nice to get out & enjoy nature. Our son lives in Homer, so we had our own tour guide. He took us all around town, to many different beaches, trail & his favorite fishing spots. We saw many eagles & lots of Mama moose with babies up near Anchor Point where our son lives. Our trip to Homer was wonderful & we can't wait to go back!Guest review byAnonymous - 10.0

Homer is great for fisherman.
Homer is great for fisherman. We also took a seaplane into Katmai and Lake Clark National Parks. We spent 4 nights and it was perfect. Highly recommend the Kannery for dinner. Small fishing village : would be a day trip , not a 3 day stay but the hikes and water activities kept us busy . Easy way around the main strip . We took a water taxi over to the other side of the bay to hike . This area is very expensive due to the fact that it is so far away from the rest of the world . Great area. Plan ahead. We did the Saltry which is an informative boat ride to a remote restaurant for lunch and a full day fishing charter w North Country Charters on The Tuff Stuff.
