Only stayed in Kanab for one night and late in the afternoon. Loved the Toadstool Hoodoos which is located at the Grand Staircase Escalante National Monument just before getting into Kanab and it is only a 1.7 mi RT hike. Loved Wild Thyme restaurant. Had their salmon dish and we shared a delish dessert. Went to Moqui Cave. Very interesting story of the lineage of the Hopi Cave told by the employees. It is very touristy but very cool to check out and if you are into rocks, gems, Native American jewelry, it is a must stop. They have wind caves there but didn’t have time for that. A beautiful area. Kanab is much more touristy than 7 years ago with more new hotels and options for renting off-road vehicles and buggies. It has become much busier and has lost some of its small-town charm. The hotel facilities are a bit old, and the hallways and public areas show their age, but the mattress is very comfortable and the bedding is clean. The air conditioner is quite noisy, but it cools really well. The bathroom is spacious with great water temperature. Having a microwave in the room is very convenient, and although the fridge is a bit old, it works well.
