We went for the Tarantula Fest.
We went for the Tarantula Fest. La Junta is a small town but had plenty of dining and shopping options. Locals were friendly and helpful. There is a lot to see nearby. Bent's Fort, Comanche National Grasslands, Vogal Canyon and dinosaur tracks.Guest review byJulieUnited States - 10.0
We enjoyed the fair in Rocky Ford.
We enjoyed the fair in Rocky Ford. Bought a bunch of produce to can. Went to the fort, and walked the town including around the park. We ate at Felisa's Mexican Food the people and food were wonderful.Guest review byDaleUnited States - 2.0
The room was dirty stuff left from previous guest.
The room was dirty stuff left from previous guest. Towels were so thin they were shredding apart. Smoke detector was not plugged in and working. The door to the bathroom stuck so bad you had to be careful not to get hit when trying to open it. It was cheap so don't expect much.Guest review byJohnson - 8.0
Not much to do in La Junta.
Not much to do in La Junta. Restaurant choices very limited, and town does not have much to offer. Surroundings however are beautiful if you are into hiking - the National Comanche Grassland is fascinating. Photo of Purgatoire River near the dinosaur's tracks (a gruesome 12 miles trek!). No water in the sink that was hot.
No water in the sink that was hot. Leak the floor by the sink was wet under carpet the heater made a loud noise. the couldn't give us a refund and that was the last room on the first floor they had left and because we booked though booking. com we couldn't get a refunded. they never should've rented that room out.Guest review byMargueriteUnited States

Room was comfortable and the location was great - Walmart just down the road and La Junta downtown was only a few minutes away with great food options. We left early in the morning but the staff offered us the breakfast to go. Good selection of items (as a hiker I loved the hard boiled eggs option that was in the fridge). It happened that I accidentally booked 2 rooms - instead of just one, and the front desk person worked with me to transfer the room to a friend of a friend who did not have a room booked.
