Like many mill towns in the northern half of Maine, the town may have seen better days but it's still fairly nice and appears to be more vibrant than towns like Millinocket. The location on Mattanawcook Pond was nice and it's very close to the Penobscot River with its boat ramps and fishing. Downtown Lincoln has a good assortment of stores and restaurants which make staying there very nice.

We weren't there to see Lincoln.
We weren't there to see Lincoln. We were there to meet friends in Enfield. Lincoln was under construction. But to me that only means improvements. We didn't even c all of Lincoln, so I cant give it a fair review. But the restaurant we went to had amazing food. The Beef & Ale. I had french onion soup & lobster stuffed Potato AMAZING. Hubby had Lobster alfredo so good.
Nice town. We only saw one stretch of Lincoln were our inn was. I highly recommend the Whitetail Inn & suites. Such a Beautiful, cozy, clean, comfy, friendly, place to stay

The hotel was incredibly nice and quaint. The room was very nice and very clean, as well as the shared bathroom. The area had great accessibility to local restaurants and other accommodations. The staff at the hotel were magnificent! I forgot an essential item in my room, and the staff went out of their way to safeguard it until I was able to return to retrieve it.
