The town itself isn't a place I intended to visit, but if you are looking for a small town alternative to expensive rooms in San Antonio, Lockhart is an option. Simply because of the location on a busy street, I will not be staying again. It was really loud. I did fine with earplugs and Benadryl, but my husband can't handle noise and felt uncomfortable about the surroundings. There were a few sirens. BBQ located next to the hotel is open late and was TERRIFIC for a 10PM bedtime snack. The town is off the beaten path for sight-seeing, but if you are on your way to Austin, it's very close to the 130 tollway that saves you a lot of time in traffic, which is bad on I-35 almost any day of the week.

We absolutely loved our stay at the Copper Cottage! I can’t recommend it enough. It’s the perfect spot for any Austinite looking for a relaxing staycation. Besides the cozy beds and immaculate vibes my favorite part about the home is that you can shop their amazing collection of vintage finds!!! How cool is that?! It’s in a prime location to explore all adorable Lockhart has to offer. I’m already scheming up a girls’ weekend so I can stay here again! :)
It was a clean and neat hotel. Loved the small town. Beautiful friendly people. Love Smitty's barbecue awesome. The nicest people who work there. A wonderful American city.
