Neat old vintage buildings from route 66's past. About 20 miles west from Shamrock and about 6 miles east from Alanreed other historic route 66 towns. Worth visiting the Devil's Rope museum and stopping by to see the historic Phillips 66 Gas Station to take pictures....

Most of the town is blighted, a casualty of I-40 replacing Route 66. Even so, driving the few downtown streets is nostalgic experience as you pass by an old Texaco gas station and a Rex All drug store. To eat, there's the highly praised Red River Steakhouse and another restaurant called the Chuck Wagon, which also is good. An interesting historical attraction is the old Phillips 66 gas station, which is a historical group is raising money to restore.

I liked the Route 66 nostalgia of the town and the motel set me back to the 50’s. The staff were great. The shower head was 😞 needs replacing and the sink Fay set gave the best shower😆 needs replaced also. The Tv was a Smart TV. Streaming Netflix and other channels with their Roku stick was easy. Unless your not into the technology.😳 they need 2 bedside tables instead of 1 between the 2 queen beds. Lamp at that table was broken would not work at all. Cord was taped a few times. The Museum is a must see‼️
