I grew up here and Waconia has grown a lot!! There is lots to do here every season, in August we have the Carver County Fair, in September we have Nickel Dickel day with all kind of vendors and food, music and several streets have antique vehicles. All the stores and bars, restaurants have different deals to!! The biggest thing to me is the Lake it is beautiful!!

We were there for a wedding at Ashery Lane Farm in Mayer.
We were there for a wedding at Ashery Lane Farm in Mayer. Beautiful venue though they have some kinks to work out in the future, outdoor speaker system for example. We appreciated the wait staff who were firm but patient with the many unruly mask wearers.
Lodging is scarce in the area so we were forced to stay in the AmeriVu Waconia. Average hotel between a bottom line and newly updated. Certainly not fancy or new. Be sure on your booking dates before hand because they double charged me and refuse to fix the error.
Other than venue and hotel we saw very little of Waconia.

Good breakfast. Eggs and hash browns are usually the standard. Two waffle makers, assortment of cereals, yogurt, milks, breads, juice machine, coffee/tea, and muffins. On a side note: the Mexican restaurant El Loro next door to the hotel is amazing!!

Location was hard for me to find in the dark. I had never been to Waconia before. My phone GPS stopped working and I could not find the Waconia Inn and Suites.
