I had heard so much about The Rachel Carson Reserve and it was well worth the walk, with plenty of benches to rest on. That same day we also visited Kennebunkport to enjoy gift shops and eat dinner at The Boathouse, with delicious Asian Fusion food. Hotels/Inns/Resorts... the list goes on.. busy as expected. Still, easy enough travelling up and down Wells, Ogunquit, York... 'the strip' has many stores, restaurants, and , of course, accommodations. The one complaint: I guess people don't eat on Mondays or Tuesdays... that, and breakfast specialties aren't a 'thing'. We did find food, and, of course, breakfast... but several 'suggested stops' open for the week on Wednesday (not helpful on a Tuesday). And, after travel, many of the places that were open, closed for the night at 7:00 pm or 8:00 pm... I get it, Tuesday is not a 'hot' night, but 'in season' dining AT 7:00 is not a rare thing - now maybe these places SERVED until 7-8:00 but I took that many places CLOSE then, and you can't 'storm the door' at that time, and expect service.Guest review byMiller - 10
I visit Wells this time every year.
I visit Wells this time every year. Have stayed in multiple locations. I see the sights in Wells and Ogunquit because of the proximity. I also travel north for shopping in several antique or thrift shops, a manicure and pedicure in Kennebunk and a visit to the monastery. Wells is close enough for some day trips. I have found the people in Wells to be very friendly and have suggestions for places to visit. Wells is my go to place for a restful getaway.Guest review byMarieUnited States - 10

Nice little coastal town with lots of shops & antique stores. Next town is Ogunquit which is slightly bigger with some good restaurants, Ogunquit Playhouse & access to beaches. There’s a good walkway called The Marginal Way that goes along the shore.Guest review byRuthUnited States
