Wharton isn't a very popular tourist destination - I have family in East Bernard nearby. I wasn't visiting for a "happy occasion," I had a funeral to attend.
Wharton is a great town with lots of historical value, a true diamond in the rough. They had a farmer's market that weekend that shut down an entire street, and the locals were absolutely amazing.
It's near farming towns (if it isn't one, itself - I don't know much about the history of Wharton specifically) so the produce was fresh and they were able to answer questions about when it was harvested and pesticides/success rates for specific crops so far this year. .

The room was clean and inviting. Only an hour out of Houston Medical Center, which assisted travel time to and from home in the Valley (Texas). Very nice employees always willing to ensure your stay was positive. The room had a microwave and very nice refrigerator and freezer - bonus. Comfortable King Size bed and large television.
Perfect location next to Buc-ee’s, Walmart and Whataburger! The entire hotel was clean and smelled really good. Denise at the front was very sweet and welcoming! The room was very clean and the bed was so comfortable. I would highly recommend and would stay again. I felt safe as a solo traveler as well. Thank you!!
I love the fact it was right of the freeway, across from Walmart, across from Buc-ee’s, and especially next to 2 great places to eat What-a-burger and Dennys!! Hotel was very clean with yummy breakfast!
